Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward underwent knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee and will need about six weeks of recovery time before beginning off-season workouts.

Andrew Bynum, of the Los Angeles Lakers’ will be out at least eight weeks because of an injured left knee.
MRI tests and an examination Monday by team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo revealed Bynum had temporarily dislocated his kneecap — a subluxation — and suffered a bone bruise.
