Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire had arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday and will be sidelined for about six weeks, the team said.
Blue Jackets President and General Manager Doug MacLean said the surgery was successful. No other information about the procedure was released.
Leclaire suffered a hamstring injury during Columbus’ 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday and had missed the five previous games with a sprained knee. The team placed Leclaire on injured reserve Tuesday and recalled goaltender Ty Conklin from Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse to back up goaltender Fredrik Norrena.
Leclaire went 6-12-2 with a 2.97 goals-against average in 21 appearances this season.
